Kusumtai- a name known to anyone and everyone who has worked in the field of education especially schools and on women's issues. A good teacher, a good administrator and a guide. She was strict, lovable, admirer of sincere efforts, was a driving and encouraging force behind so many. She has been a true friend, a mother, a support an idol of worship and much more for many through out her life. She lived as a socialist and has been luckily to be trained and guided by great social workers and philosophers like- Shriut Anna Saheb Sahastrabudhe, S.M.Joshi, Nana Saheb Gore, Sane Guruji and many more.
She started her life in social field as a freedom fighter in 1942. Then she joined Khadi Commission. She also worked in cooperative field under the gidance of great Gandhian leader Anna Saheb Sahatrabudhe. She travelled Across India. In 1969 She was one of the founder members of Maharashtra Samaj Seva Sangh (a renowned educational institution which runs Rachana Vidyalaya, Navarachana Vidyalaya etc in Nashik). In 1982 under her leadership and guidance we staqred MHSS a leading social organisation working on women's issues. She has been founder President of MHSS.
All of us - Members of Mahila Hakka Saurakshan Samiti are greatful to her for all her initiative, encouragement, efforts, support and guidance in starting and expanding this social activism.
